Disputes Against Sabbath And Yahweh

The disputes against Sabbath and Yahweh have been going on for a very long time and we feel that it’s time to settle them once and for all. In today’s blog we’ll specifically share with you the most popular arguments out there against the Seventh-Day Sabbath and the Sacred Name of the Almighty Father in heaven Yahweh! What are the real truths about these very important subjects? We’ll answer these for you using the words directly quoted from the Bible itself, which is the only source of our teachings and the only standard of our preachings. As always, we’ll ask Yahweh’s Holy Spirit to give us the spiritual boldness and the sacred wisdom to share them with you. Here are the popular disputes or arguments against the Sacred Name of Yahweh:

1.“That’s a Hebrew Name, it only applies in the Hebrew language.”

The answer: Read Ephesians 3:14-15 which says “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Master Yahshua Messiah, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.”

2.“That’s the Name the Almighty gave Moses to use, it’s not for us.”

The answer: Read Isaiah 42:8—Yahweh’s Name. This passage says, “I Am Yahweh, that is My Name; and my glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images.”

3.“All the descriptive words or titles applied to the Almighty are His Names—He has many Names, not just one specific Name—and all of them are holy.”

The answers: Read Revelation 14:1—His Name is the first of the Ten Commandments; “I Am Yahweh your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.” (Exodus 20:2), and “But Yahweh is the true Elohim; He is the living Elohim and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, and the nations will not be able to abide His indignation.” (Jeremiah 10:10).

4.“The Sacred Name Yahweh was changed to the more commonly known Theos (God) and Kurios (Lord).”

The answer: Never! By whom? No heavenly authority for such a change! “anti-Messiah shall intend to alter times and law” (Daniel 7:25).

5.“The true pronunciation of the Sacred Name has been lost, it’s not possible for us to know what the original form of the Sacred name was.”

The answer: It wasn’t lost—the letters yod, he, and waw were originally “long vowels” as history records. Notice Isaiah 52:4-6 which says “For thus says Yahweh: My people went down at first into Egypt to sojourn there; then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause. Now therefore, what have I here, says Yahweh, That My people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them make them wail, says Yahweh, and My Name is blasphemed continually every day. Therefore My people shall know My Name; therefore they shall know in that day that I Am He who speaks: Behold, it is I.”

6.“The Name Yahweh was not known until the Almighty told it to Moses at Mount Horeb.”

The answers: “Then Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there unto Yahweh” (Genesis 13:18); “So he built an altar there and called on the name of Yahweh, and he pitched his tent there; and there Isaac’s servants dug a well.” (Genesis 26:25), and “So that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then Yahweh shall be my Elohim” (Genesis 28:21).

7.“Why isn’t it found in the New Testament?”

The answer: It is in the New Testament! Read Revelation 19. Psalm 68:4 says, “Sing to Elohim, sing praises to His name; extol Him who rides on the clouds, by His Name YAH, and rejoice before Him.” You can also find it in many places in the Aramaic New Testament.

Meanwhile, here are the popular disputes or arguments against the Seventh-Day Sabbath:

1.“That’s a Jewish day. That day was for the Jews only.”

The answers: You can read in Mark 2:27—“for man”—And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.” Exodus 20:10 includes the “stranger”—“But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yahweh your Elohim. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.”

2.“That’s a law of Moses. It’s not for us.”

The answer: Exodus 31:13—Yahweh’s Sabbaths. “Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I Am Yahweh who sanctifies you.”

3.“Every day is a Sabbath day under the New Covenant. There’s not just One specific day that’s holy, all days are set apart as holy.”

The answers: Revelation 14:12—One of the Ten Commandments. Only one day of the week was made holy by Yahweh. See above (Exodus 20:10); “Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to Yahweh. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death” (Exodus 31:15).

4.“The Sabbath was changed to Sunday.”

5.“Time has been lost—it’s not possible for us to know which day is the actual seventh day of the week.”

The answer: It hasn’t been lost! The weekly cycle can be verified as constant throughout history. (Day 1 is Sunday…Day 7 is Saturday).

6.“The Sabbath was not in force until the Almighty gave Moses the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai.”

The answers: It was made holy at creation—“And on the seventh day Elohim ended His work which he had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which Elohim had created and made.” (Genesis 2:2-3); “Then he said to them, This is what Yahweh has said: Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to Yahweh” (Exodus 16:23). “Because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws” (Genesis 26:5).

7.“Why isn’t it found in the New Testament?”

The answer: It is in the New Testament! “There remains therefore a rest for the people of Elohim.”–Hebrews 4:9 (Aramaic text) and in the transliterated Greek.
