The True Church Is A Small Flock
The true Church is a small flock, according to the Bible. Are you surprised? Many churches, especially the larger ones, claimed ties to Christianity. Is the size of the church a real proof that it is the true Church? Or could a small group or a collection of relatively small groups actually be the continuation of the true Church from the time of Yahshua Messiah’s ministry on earth? Today, we’re going to share with you the real truth about this topic. As always, we will let the Bible interpret itself as we ask Yahweh’s Holy Spirit to give us the wisdom to discuss this subject matter. May you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear for this true and faithful heavenly message.
In the 21st century, would Savior Yahshua’s true Church be scorned by the world or be a major player highly involved in the world’s selfish, materialistic, rebellious, and turmoil state of life? Yahshua and His apostles taught that the true Church would be small. He said, “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom” (Luke 12:32). “Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved. For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because Yahweh will make a short work upon the earth” (Romans 9:27-28). “Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace” (Romans 11:5).
Yahshua the Messiah specifically taught that only a few would find the way to eternal life in this age as most would go the broad way that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13-14; 20:16) He also taught that many would seek to enter, but not find it (Luke 13:24). If a very small body of believers could be the true and most faithful Church, does it not make sense that Yahweh Elohim is mainly working through relatively few during the present Church age? Most professing Christians apparently doubt that fact.
As prophesied, many have overlooked how Elohim works: “So he answered and said to me: This is the word of Yahweh to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says Yahweh of hosts. Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it! Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me saying: “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands shall also finish it. Then you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent Me to you” (Zechariah 4:6-9). “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:44) and “despised the day of small things” (Zechariah 4:10).
Messiah Yahshua warned that “tares” (weeds) would be planted among the brethren by the enemy (Matthew 13:37-40). Yahshua taught that the unfaithful would practice “lawlessness” (Matthew 13:41), but later be eliminated (Matthew 13:42). Notice something else that Yahshua taught: Not everyone who says to Me, Master, Master, shall enter the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” (Matthew 7:21-23).
Yes, the true Church uphold Yahweh’s law (1 John 5:1-3). It teaches that Elohim set in motion laws, that if obeyed, would bring humanity much good, including abundant well-being and a productive full life. Yes, the true Church of Elohim proclaims that Yahweh’s law is not done away, but has been “exalted” and made “honorable” (Isaiah 42:21) and expanded by Savior Yahshua. Yes, the true Church of Yahweh teaches what the Bible teaches: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalms 119:105). “My tongue shall speak of Your word, for all Your Commandments are righteous” (Psalms 119: 172).
The Savior of mankind Yahshua said, “Yahweh is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). Yet, Roman Catholics and many other religions endorses the use of various idols and icons that they venerate. The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:4-6) and the apostle John (1 John 5:21) warned against that! The apostle Paul warned that Satan the devil’s ministers would deceptively appear to transform themselves into “ministers of righteousness” (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). Biblical history shows that those who did so had success in deceiving many!
In closing, yes, the true Church is a small flock that obeys Yahweh’s Ten Commandments! It is a small group of people who follow Yahshua Messiah’s faith and that of His Father Yahweh’s law (Ten Commandments of the Bible). We hope you’re blessed upon reading this true and faithful heavenly message. May Elohim protects and keeps those who are not hearers only, but also doers of His word (Bible). We humbly pray these things to Yahweh in the name of Messiah Yahshua, our Master, Savior, and King, amen. Love be with you all. Halleluyah, Shalom!
We see many organisations that claim to be doing the work of God nowadays but feed people snakes, grass and petrol amongst other things. I’ve been praying in my own space because of the fear that going to church might be a mistake especially not knowing what they worship. Thank you for this life changing post. This blessed me.
Obedience of the ten commandments is the ultimate gateway to stay in touch with our Lord and personal saviour. Thank you for this post.
I like the idea of Churches having small groups. This is an interesting take and I enjoyed reading it and learning as I did.
Such a fascinating read and so true. The true church is a small flock but I fear it grows smaller due to outside influences. Thank you for sharing this reminder.
The size of the church or following does not matter, it is the true following of God’s word which matters most.
It’s obvious you are very passionate about the topic. Love and compassion to all people everywhere.
I am Jewish and we have our own version of these messages that you share. It’s interesting to compare them.
This is so true. It’s great to see that small groups are following the Lord and truly living in a Godly manner.
Many big churches are false. Too many people are attracted to them.
This is pretty interesting. Definitely learned a lot from reading. I appreciate you sharing this!
