Raising A Family Based On Bible

Raising a family based on Bible should be a top priority for every married man and woman of all generations. Stop and think for a moment about some of the families you’re acquainted with. What are some of the more outstanding characteristics you’ve observed? Was it that family members laughed together a lot or said “Please” and “Thank you” often? Can you remember what made you feel that a particular family was a stable and successful one? Was it because a peaceful and loving atmosphere always a part of their daily interactions? How many families appear to have it all together? Just what is the best family model? And to what does the human family ultimately point? Today, we’re going to share with you the family model based on biblical principles Yahweh our Elohim want us to follow to have a happy, productive and healthy family. As always, we will let the Bible interpret itself as we ask the Holy Spirit for help and guidance in teaching you this very important biblical subject. May you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear for this true and faithful message of the heavenly Kingdom.

Every human being must come to understand this fact: Yahweh, through His wisdom and love, instituted the family unit. He is the Author of the perfect family model. He created the first man and woman, united them as one flesh, and exhorted them to be fruitful and multiply, to have children (Genesis 1:27-28; 2:23-24). Yahweh further tells us to train our children in His ways (Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Proverbs 22:6) and that our children are a heritage from Him (Psalm 127:3). Of course, not all married couples are able to have children—and Elohim understands that. There are nonetheless many great blessings and much to be gained and learned in the marriage relationship, which pictures a higher spiritual reality. Still, producing and rearing children is a major reason for the creation of marriage. The Bible states: “But did He not make them one…And why one? He (Yahweh) seeks holy offspring” (Malachi 2:15). Indeed, all children belong to Elohim—and He has placed these children in their parents’ care to raise them properly in correct or right ways. The apostle Paul showed that Elohim is building His growing family on earth (Ephesians 2:19-22; 3:14-15). And the best family model on earth, at this point, can be read in the Bible (Ephesians 4:15-16).

Furthermore, now let us consider some solid characteristics of the holy or heavenly family model. These characteristics apply toward parents, father, mother, husband, wife, and children. Please study and share them to others.

FATHER 

• The father is the leader of the family. His responsibility includes caring for his wife as Yahshua the Messiah cares for the Church (Ephesians 5:23).

MOTHER

• The mother is father’s suitable help (Genesis 2:18), and together they set the best example for their children while teaching them the way of Elohim (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

FATHER and MOTHER

• Father and mother should work in harmony to train their children in Elohim’s way.

CHILDREN

• Children follow their parents’ good example, since actions speaks louder than words. Kids learn more from what their parents do than what they say.

HUSBAND and WIFE

• As with all members of the Church, husbands and wives should submit to one another in humility, patience and love (Ephesians 5:21; 1 Peter 5:5).

PARENTS

• Parents should read the Bible to their children and pray with them daily. This is very important.
• Parents should always tell their children that they love them and that they will stand by them and be there for them for the rest of their lives.
• Parents should turn their children to Elohim who has given human beings life on His earth and sustained us with His bounties.
• Parents should not curse or swear. Children will take to swearing if that’s  impressed upon them by their parents and will view cursing as acceptable.
• Parents are stewards for future sons of Elohim, as Yahweh said of Abraham (Genesis 18:19).
• Parents should sacrifice for each other and for their children.
• Parents should avoid belittling their children, publicly and privately, lest you discourage them (Colossians 3:21).
• Parents should encourage their children to strive for excellence in character, in their studies and in their future profession.
• Parents should always make time for their children since the greatest gift parents can give to their children is themselves and their time. Life passes by quickly; there’s no time to waste (Ephesians 5:15-16). This is crucial.

ALL FAMILY MEMBERS

• Family members must obey the Ten Commandments of the Bible. This is very, very important!
• Follow what the prophet Joshua and his family had done when he said, “…But as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh (Joshua 24:15).

In closing, raising a family based on Bible is what Elohim want us to strive for. Yes, Almighty Yahweh, through Yahshua the Messiah, is remaking His called-out ones in this life to become His holy family member forever! He reshapes our thinking, speaking and actions to be transformed into His way of life (Romans 12:2). Very soon, Elohim Himself will be with His family on earth! Here’s a glimpse of the final and ultimate state of Yahweh’s family in the vision the apostle John was given of the New Jerusalem, the Holy City that Elohim the Father will bring down from heaven to the earth: “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away…Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from Elohim, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of Elohim is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. Yahweh Himself will be with them and be their Elohim. And Elohim will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:1-4). Yes, this is the supreme family model that Almighty Yahweh through Yahshua the Messiah will bring about—multitudes of divine family that will last forever with no more troubles! How about you? Do you want to be counted to Elohim’s sacred family here on earth upon Yahshua Messiah’s return from heaven? Both the Father and the Son are now creating Their family model through human beings who desire to honor Them. This model began with Them. As the Son of Yahweh, Yahshua loved and honored His Father (Yahweh) with all of His heart, mind and soul. This is the key to the heavenly family that puts Yahweh first in everything!
