Yahweh’s Instructions to Leaders and Rulers of Nation
What is right rulership and proper leadership according to Yahweh and His Word, the Bible? From the beginning of time human beings have mostly tried to rule themselves without asking for Yahweh’s help to rule and lead righteously. It is no wonder why many nations and kingdoms on earth with corrupt and self-serving leaders and rulers have fallen apart and are still falling in a downward spiral up to this present day and generation. Why many, if not all nations, are struggling big time with leadership and rulership issues? The apostle Paul wrote: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12). What is real leadership and what is true rulership according to the Word of Father Yahweh, the Mighty Creator of mankind and of heavens and the earth?
The Bible says: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” (Proverbs 29:2). As Yahshua’s words to His followers show, Yahweh’s view of leadership is far different from ours. The human perspective on leadership and rulership is to view it as an opportunity for personal advancement and power, whereas Yahweh’s perspective is the total opposite. Yahweh’s purpose of rulership and/or leadership is to use it as an opportunity to serve our fellow human beings. Very sadly, leaders and rulers of many countries today are utterly dishonest and bitterly corrupt. The prophet Isaiah wrote: “For the leaders of this people cause them to err, and those who are led by them are destroyed.” (Isaiah 9:16). The Bible also says: “There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12)
To rule and to lead righteously is not to seek human vanity and folly. People need to show humility before honor (Proverbs 15:33). “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18). As Yahweh clearly points out to all people: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9). The prophet Micah in his epistle wrote Yahweh had already shown the people what is good and He requires all the people to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with Yahweh (Micah 6:8)
Yahshua the Messiah had given people example of the humility and serving others that He and His Father Yahweh expect from all people. Yahshua emphasized the attitude of humility as the starting point for real leadership and true rulership. He pointed out to His disciples that people must be humble and receptive like children, otherwise they would never be able to enter His future Kingdom (Matthew 18:1-4). Yahshua became a slave for our sakes that when He first came to earth as a human being, He humbled Himself in obedience to His Father Yahweh and died like a criminal on a stake. He suffered and died a horrible death for our sins acting as a servant of Yahweh that we might receive Almighty Yahweh’s gift of eternal life!
In ancient times, Yahweh laid out rules that would bring blessings and empower Israel to be an example that other nations would want to emulate (Deuteronomy 4:5-8). Leaders and rulers then were instructed by Yahweh to totally familiarize themselves with those rules and laws so they could rule humbly, wisely and righteously, leading to blessings for both themselves and the nation. At this present generation do you see and observe the modern leaders and rulers of the nations imitating and following the written commands of Yahweh for righteous governance? Are the leaders and the rulers fair and just, honest, compassionate and loving to the people they serve? Do they have a “servant”mentality and attitudes?
The plummeting morality of world governments, their insecure economies and the increasing corruptness of our modern society are already consuming the hearts and minds of our leaders and rulers and the millions of people under them are hurting, suffering and dying. The truth is, Satan is the god of this age (present world) (2 Corinthians 4:4) and he is blinding the eyes of the corrupt leaders of many nations. Satan the devil tempted and tested Yahshua when the Messiah was taken to a mountain and shown the glory of all the kingdoms of this world: “And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I will give it to whomever I wish.” (Luke 4:6). If Yahshua Himself was tempted by Satan the devil why do you think Satan will not do it to the many leaders and rulers of many nations on earth today?
But inspite all of these bad and crazy things happening in this world today there is good news, and that is, Yahshua the Messiah will return again in the future as the King of Kings and the Master of the Masters to lead and to rule mightily and righteously. The true saints of Yahweh shall prepare to meet Yahshua in the clouds in the air in the future to be with Him forever. In the Book of Revelation in the Bible the apostle John affirms “seeing the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from Yahweh…and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people (the true saints), and Yahweh Himself will be with them and be their Elohim.” (Revelation 21:3). In the future time, the Bible plainly says: “They (people) shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Yahweh as the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11:9). Surely, the Almighty Father Yahweh will “put an end to all the tears, as there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4).
